Mike and RobertBefore we open any account or recommend changes to a portfolio, we like to sit with clients to determine the current, prospective, and hoped-for financial situation; the goals. Important issues we like to bring up include:

  • Education funding
  • Retirement
  • Cash Flow
  • Wealth accumulation
  • Tax minimization
  • Estate planning

Additionally, we must obtain a clear idea of each client’s view on investments, especially expectations, previous experiences, and most critically the tolerance for risk. Some ideas to ponder include one’s views on:

  • Income versus growth
  • Avoiding losses versus beating inflation
  • Comfort, or lack thereof, with international or small company exposure

Are current holdings risk appropriate?
Can current holdings achieve desired goals?
