Investment management and financial planning, handled by one team
BAM is an independent, fee-only fiduciary. We manage portfolios in-house, build the financial plan around the same goals, and give clients direct access to the professionals doing the work.
Your portfolio should reflect the rest of your financial life
Investment decisions do not happen in isolation. Retirement timing affects how much risk a portfolio can bear. Taxes affect what and when you trade. Family obligations, spending needs, and estate plans affect liquidity and account structure.
We begin with that full picture. Founded in Princeton in 1998 and now employee-owned, BAM manages investments in-house and includes financial planning for investment-management clients. Portfolio decisions and planning recommendations are made from the same set of facts.
Portfolios managed in-house
The people you meet are the people responsible for research, allocation, implementation, and monitoring.
Planning tied to the portfolio
Retirement, education, estate, and cash-flow decisions inform how the investments are structured.
Fee-only fiduciary advice
We are paid through disclosed advisory fees. We do not sell financial products or receive commissions.
Choose the level of help you need
Most clients hire BAM to manage their investments and financial plan together. We also work with experienced investors who want advice while retaining control of their accounts.

Usually, something has changed
The need for advice often becomes clear at a transition point, not on an arbitrary date.
Retirement is becoming real
You need to connect spending, Social Security, taxes, account withdrawals, and portfolio risk.
Wealth has become fragmented
Accounts accumulated across employers, custodians, or advisers no longer add up to one coherent strategy.
An inheritance or transition changed the picture
New assets or responsibilities require decisions about investing, liquidity, taxes, and family priorities.
You want a second set of eyes
You enjoy managing investments but want independent analysis of the portfolio, its risks, and important decisions.
From the first conversation to ongoing advice
-
1
Understand the full picture
We discuss what prompted the call, what the money needs to do, how your assets are managed now, and the decisions already on the horizon.
-
2
Set the investment and planning priorities
We identify the portfolio strategy, planning work, and implementation steps that matter first. You see the recommendations and tradeoffs before changes are made.
-
3
Manage and revisit
We manage the portfolio, update the plan as circumstances change, and remain available when a decision or question cannot wait for a scheduled review.
No products to sell. No commissions to earn.
BAM is a fee-only fiduciary. We do not sell financial products or receive commissions. Our compensation comes from advisory fees that are disclosed before the relationship begins. Client assets are custodied at Charles Schwab, separate from BAM.
